Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt , organisers of the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition have announced that eight exhibition halls are confirmed for Asia’s largest lighting industry fair which will take place
9 – 12 June 2009 at the China Import and Export Fair Pazhou Complex in Guangzhou, China. The halls represent a gross area of 88,000 square meters and will house a comprehensive range of technical and exterior lighting, decorative lighting, professional lighting, electric lighting, together with accessories and components. Two halls will be dedicated to LED lighting.

Now in its 14th edition, the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition is recognised as the world’s second biggest lighting show for lighting products and services. It is the preferred Asian sourcing destination for thousands of architects, building planners, lighting retailers and wholesalers from around the world.

New events added to fair’s popular fringe programme

LUCI Conference. Conducted in cooperation with Lighting Urban Community International (LUCI), the title seminar is “Lighting Master Plans, Changing and Improving Cities”. Speakers representing the cities of Ghent in Belgium, Paris in France and Kunming in China will focus on the benefits, impact and strategies of lighting master plans. The seminar will provide the latest information to government departments, authorities and lighting professionals. LUCI is a unique international network bringing together city and lighting professionals who are using sustainable and environmentally friendly lighting as a tool for urban, social and economic development.

China Information Day. To make it easier for overseas buyers to source lighting products in China, two seminars will offer information about China’s lighting industry. “Sourcing trends and strategies in a difficult market environment” presented by Mr Thaddaeus Mueller from Fiducia Management Consultants will give a critical review of viable buying structures in the China and Hong Kong lighting industries and Mr Chen Yansheng from China Association of Lighting Industry will present “Current situation and trend of lighting industry in China”.

Factory Visit. A guided tour will be arranged for group delegations to visit selected lighting manufacturing plants in the Guangdong area.

The 2nd China Lighting & Electrical Appliance Contest. Organised in cooperation with the China Association of Lighting Industry, this event encourages innovation in lighting R&D, product design and manufacturing so that consumers have more quality lighting products and lighting electrical appliances to choose from.

Guangzhou International Lighting Technology Symposium 2009, 5th edition. This year’s theme is “Sustainable Development of Lighting Industry” with international and domestic industry experts once again gathering together from a wide range of backgrounds to present lighting trends and latest developments. The symposium will be divided into three major topics: Landscape and architecture lighting, Interior lighting and LED technology. There will also be one panel discussion.
